Software Co. Hits SEC With Trademark Suit Over IDEA

Law360 (March 12, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Canadian software company CaseWare International Inc. has hit the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission with a trademark suit, claiming that the government agency's IDEA information portal infringes the company's mark for its IDEA business intelligence software.

CaseWare International, along with its subsidiary CaseWare IDEA Inc. and its Texas-based distributor Audimation Services Inc., filed a suit Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas alleging trademark infringement and unfair competition by the SEC.
