EPA To Ax Voluntary Green Program

Law360, New York (March 16, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Environment Protection Agency will end Performance Track, a program designed to promote voluntary green measures by companies, according to a statement released late Monday evening.

"In order to develop a stronger system to protect human health and the environment, EPA has decided to halt the current National Environmental Performance Track Program so that we may evaluate and refine the program’s concepts," the statement said. The spokesperson making the statement asked not to be named.
