EEOC Sues Tenet Over Discrimination

Law360, New York (August 25, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission is suing acute care company Tenet Health Ltd. over allegations that its Houston hospital terminated a contract because it didn’t want mentally disabled workers in its facility.

The lawsuit, filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, alleges that Park Plaza Hospital violated Title I of the Americans With Disability Act by terminating workers’ contracts at the hospital and then refusing to hire the newly unemployed disabled workers because of their disabilities.
