Consumers Hit Yoplait With Suit Over Yogurt Benefits

Law360, New York (March 18, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- General Mills Inc. has been hit with a putative class action that accuses the company of masterminding a national marketing campaign for its Yoplait Yo-Plus probiotic yogurt based on misleading digestive health claims.

Filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, the complaint alleges that General Mills and Yoplait USA Inc. deceptively advertised Yo-Plus yogurt to contain digestive health benefits that were unfounded.
