Law360, New York (May 17, 2017, 12:12 PM EDT) -- President Donald Trump has nominated Vishal Amin, a veteran Capitol Hill and White House staffer, to be the next intellectual property enforcement coordinator, a move widely cheered by those who believe Amin's congressional relations and strong IP background would be valuable assets.

The position, commonly referred to as the IP czar, deals with enforcement efforts around patents, trademarks and copyrights. Amin would replace former Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP attorney Daniel Marti, who served during the second term of the Obama administration.
