P&G Prevails In Dishwasher Detergent Patent Spat

Law360 (March 18, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has upheld an award of priority of invention to Procter & Gamble Co. in the company's patent battle with Henkel Corp. over dishwashing detergent tablets.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit on Wednesday upheld a ruling by the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences awarding priority to P&G, concluding that contrary to Henkel's assertions, the board's ruling was supported by substantial evidence.
