Insurer Still On Hook In Globe Libel Suit: 1st Circ.

Law360, New York (March 19, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has thrown out a known loss doctrine defense in a dispute between Employers Reinsurance Corp. and the Boston Globe newspaper over coverage for $2.1 million incurred by the Globe in a libel suit arising out of a doctor's claim that the paper wrongly implicated her in a patient's death.
