How 7 Medium-Sized Law Firms Defied Mediocrity In 2016

By Aebra Coe (May 24, 2017, 8:04 PM EDT) -- While the average medium-sized law firm in 2016 saw only a minuscule 1.2 percent increase in gross revenue, a select few law firms stood out from the crowd.

Just seven of the second 100 largest law firms in the U.S. by revenue posted double-digit increases in their gross revenue last year, according to the American Lawyer in its annual Am Law 200 report. Across the board, growth was nearly stagnant, and most of the midsize firms that did see major revenue spikes largely did it through acquisitions, research by Law360 shows.
