Madoff To Stay Behind Bars Until Sentenced: 2nd Circ.

Law360, New York (March 20, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal appeals court sealed Bernard L. Madoff's immediate fate Friday, ruling that the financial fraudster will remain in prison until his sentencing, which is scheduled for June.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit affirmed the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York's earlier ruling that Madoff, who pled guilty this month to running a $65 billion Ponzi scheme, will stay locked up until his June 16 sentencing.
