Sepracor Sues Generics Makers Over Lunesta Patents

Law360 (March 23, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Pharmaceutical company Sepracor Inc. has lodged a patent infringement suit against several companies, including Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. and Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Inc., that are seeking to make generic versions of the blockbuster sleep drug Lunesta.

Sepracor lodged the suit on Friday in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, accusing generics makers of infringing four patents relating to the prescription sleep aid, according to a recent filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
