Sierra Club Fights For CAA Suit Against Texas Oil Refinery

Law360, Los Angeles (June 2, 2017, 2:47 PM EDT) -- The Sierra Club and a Texas environmental group urged a federal judge Thursday to preserve allegations that Pasadena Refining Systems Inc. is violating the Clean Air Act by spewing toxic chemicals from its oil refinery, rejecting claims that its allegations weren't sufficiently specific.

PRSI argued in a May 12 dismissal motion that the Texas federal court doesn't have jurisdiction to hear the case because, among other reasons, the plaintiffs offered no identities of the residents allegedly injured by the refinery's emissions.
