Currency Trader Targets Watchdog In Defamation Suit

Law360, New York (June 6, 2017, 4:22 PM EDT) -- A currency trading firm filed a defamation and trade secrets suit against the National Futures Association on Tuesday, saying the industry self-regulation group published false claims about the company without giving the opportunity for rebuttal.

 

The claims were a regulatory overreach that falsely accused Effex Capital LLC and its CEO John Dittami, who are not NFA members, of collaborating with an NFA-member firm to the detriment of Effex customers and that revealed the firm's trade secrets, according to the complaint.
