UNITE Splinter Group Joins Forces With SEIU

Law360, New York (March 24, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- After months of tension, a splinter group of 150,000 workers has defected from UNITE HERE and formed a new affiliation with the Service Employees International Union.

On Monday, the newly formed Workers United announced its affiliation with North America's fastest-growing union, SEIU, just two days after the 150,000 mostly former UNITE workers announced their split from UNITE HERE.
