Jury In Philly DA's Trial To See His Tough Talk On Graft

Law360, Philadelphia (June 9, 2017, 2:40 PM EDT) -- Jurors tasked with determining whether Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams is guilty of bribery will have the opportunity to see the prosecutor’s own public statements as he pursued corruption charges against other Philadelphia officials, a Pennsylvania federal judge ruled Thursday.

U.S. District Judge Paul Diamond concluded that federal prosecutors could introduce evidence from 2014, when Williams took over a corruption investigation into city officials that had been dropped by former Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane.
