HP Settles Ink Cartridge Patent Dispute Out Of Court

Law360, New York (March 24, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Hewlett-Packard Co. settled a patent infringement dispute with Ninestar Technology Co. Ltd. over ink cartridge parts on Tuesday, marking the second time HP has forced the printer accessories manufacturer to pony up for similar technology, this time out of court.

Ninestar agreed to pay HP an undisclosed sum of money for infringing patents covering two ink cartridges, and said that it would stop selling the products in the United States and other countries where HP holds the patent rights, according to an announcement from Hewlett-Packard....
