Insurer To Pay MSA An Extra $2M In Fees In Asbestos Fight

Law360, Philadelphia (June 16, 2017, 1:57 PM EDT) -- A Pennsylvania state court judge has agreed to tack another $2 million in legal fees and court costs onto a $58 million damages award against North River Insurance Co. in a dispute over coverage for asbestos-related product liability claims brought by MSA Safety.

Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas Judge Alan Hertzberg ruled June 8 that safety equipment manufacturer MSA Safety Inc. was entitled to additional fees and costs beyond nearly $12 million attached to an earlier award.
