As Trump Rescinds DAPA, Uneasiness Lingers About DACA

Law360, New York (June 16, 2017, 10:16 PM EDT) -- With the Trump administration revoking a deportation protection initiative for parents, uncertainty is once again swirling around the potential fate of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, particularly given the administration’s recent targeting of several young immigrants.

On Thursday night, facing a court deadline, Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly officially rescinded the Obama-era directive creating the DAPA program, formally Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents.
