Synthes Bone Plate Suit Stayed For Patent Re-Exam

Law360 (March 25, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has agreed to put a hold on proceedings in a two-year-old infringement suit launched by Synthes Inc.'s North American unit against Howmedica Osteonics Corp. after the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office agreed to re-examine the asserted bone plate patent.

Judge Anita B. Brody of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania granted Howmedica's motion for the stay March 19, though the order did not appear in the docket until Tuesday.
