Kiss Frontman Simmons Drops Bid For 'Horns' Trademark

Law360, New York (June 22, 2017, 3:57 PM EDT) -- Kiss lead singer Gene Simmons has dropped his much-maligned effort to register the famous rock 'n' roll "horns" hand gesture as a trademark, a decision legal experts say was a no-brainer.

Without explanation, Simmons filed a notice Tuesday at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office that he “expressly abandons the application for trademark registration” of the symbol.
