Louis Vuitton, Dooney Settle S-Lock Trademark Suit

Law360, New York (March 26, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Louis Vuitton Malletier and Dooney & Burke Inc. have settled a trademark suit alleging that Dooney's handbags illegally replicated Louis Vuitton's S-locks.

Judge Richard M. Berman of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York dismissed the case Tuesday, although the court retained jurisdiction over the matter in order to enforce the parties' settlement agreement.

Details of the settlement were not released.

Counsel for Dooney & Burke declined to comment, and representatives for Louis Vuitton could not immediately be reached for comment on...
