Olive Oil Co.’s Trade Secrets Public Knowledge: Judge

Law360, New York (June 30, 2017, 11:49 AM EDT) -- A California federal judge on Thursday dismissed an olive oil distributor's trade secrets suit against a former employee and the rival company he went to work for, finding that the distributor hadn’t provided enough evidence that its trade secrets were stolen or even secret.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Joseph C. Spero said that Oakland-based Veronica Foods had not plausibly shown that former sales employee Kurt Ecklin had taken trade secrets with him when he moved to rival olive oil distributor Millpress Imports LLC.
