Fla. Justices To Mull Reinstating $8M Mesothelioma Verdict

Law360, New York (July 14, 2017, 2:09 PM EDT) -- Florida’s high court will review an appeal seeking to reinstate a $8 million verdict against a cigarette company and an industrial manufacturer filed by a man who said he developed mesothelioma due to exposure from cigarette filters and gaskets the companies made 60 years ago.

In a 4-3 decision Tuesday, the Florida Supreme Court accepted jurisdiction over Richard DeLisle appeal against R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. and Crane Co. in a case likely to focus on the scope of expert witnesses' testimony heard during trial.
