Cerus Settles Class Action, Derivative Lawsuits

Law360, New York (August 31, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Biopharmaceutical company Cerus Corp. has settled a federal securities class action lawsuit and a derivative shareholder suit that alleged the company concealed risks about one of its products from investors.

The settlement amount was not disclosed, but it will be paid entirely by its insurance carriers under the company’s directors’ and officers’ liability insurance plan, Cerus said. The settlement will have no financial impact on the company.
