FDA Warns On Online Drugs After Fakes Found

Law360, New York (August 31, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration advised consumers Wednesday against purchasing prescription drugs from some Canadian Web sites amid reports that the sites are selling counterfeit prescription drugs to American consumers.

The agency warned against Web sites that have their orders filled by Mediplan Prescription Plus Pharmacy or Mediplan Global Health in Manitoba, Canada. The FDA said it was investigating the reports of counterfeits and was coordinating the probe with international law enforcement authorities.
