Kickback Suit Against Fla. Anesthesiologists To Be Dropped

By Carolina Bolado (July 26, 2017, 8:06 PM EDT) -- The federal government on Tuesday consented to the Florida Society of Anesthesiologists' decision to drop its False Claims Act suit accusing several anesthesia providers of running a physician kickback scheme.

In a short filing in the Middle District of Florida, the federal government consented to the FSA's voluntary dismissal of the case, filed last Friday, as long as it is without prejudice to the United States.

The FSA's decision comes after U.S. District Judge James D. Whittemore last month dismissed the relator's third amended complaint and gave it just one more chance to add more specific facts to support the claims...
