Medical Records Case V. Postal Service Survives

Law360 (April 1, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has refused to toss a suit brought by two letter carrier unions against the U.S. Postal Service, which stands accused of illegally accessing employees' medical records.

Judge Denny Chin of U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on Tuesday gave the National Association of Letter Carriers, the AFL-CIO and the American Postal Workers Union the green light, rejecting the USPS' contention that the unions did not have standing to bring their claims.
