TVA Loses Bid To Extend Pollution Controls Deadline

Law360 (April 2, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has refused to alter her order requiring the Tennessee Valley Authority to install pollution scrubbers at a power plant, denying the electricity giant's request for extra time to make the changes at one of its plants.

Seeking to find out whether the court had erred in the details of its recently issued opinion, the TVA filed the motion regarding its John Sevier fossil plant, located near Rogers, Tenn., on Jan. 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina....
