LSI, Cypress Strike Deal Over Semiconductor Patent

Law360 (April 2, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- LSI Corp. and Cypress Semiconductor Corp. have asked a federal judge to temporarily lift a stay and dismiss Cypress from a patent suit brought by LSI accusing a slew of semiconductor companies of infringing a computer chip coating method.

Chip designer LSI and its Agere Systems Inc. unit filed the motion to dismiss claims against Cypress on Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, noting that “all matters in controversy between LSI Corp. and Agere Systems Inc. and Cypress Semiconductor Corp....
