Grupo Mexico Faces $6B Damages In Asarco Case

Law360, New York (April 2, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Grupo Mexico SAB could be on the hook for some $6.04 billion in damages as a result of a court ruling in favor of Asarco LLC stemming from the mining company's bankruptcy case, Asarco said Thursday.

Judge Andrew Hanen of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas handed down the order Wednesday, setting out how damages resulting from his August 2008 ruling in favor of Asarco should be tallied.
