DC Circ. Tosses Sierra Club's Freeport LNG Export Fight
Law360, New York (August 15, 2017, 7:56 PM EDT) -- The D.C. Circuit on Tuesday rejected the Sierra Club’s challenge to the U.S. Department of Energy’s decision to give Freeport LNG Expansion LP the green light to export liquefied natural gas from a Texas-based facility.
A unanimous panel of three D.C. Circuit judges denied the Sierra Club’s petition for review of the DOE’s 2014 order granting Freeport’s application to export liquefied natural gas from a facility on Quintana Island near Freeport, Texas, and the DOE’s 2015 order denying the green group’s request for rehearing of the matter.
