Skype Slapped With Voice Mail Patent Suit

Law360 (April 8, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A patent-holding company has hit Skype Technologies SA with an infringement lawsuit, claiming the communications software giant willfully infringed patents covering its voice mail technology.

Eidos Communications LLC filed its lawsuit on Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, alleging Skype and its American subsidiary violated three of its patents.

The patents cover technology involving a method of controlling the transmission and delivery of voice messages or other data over voice mail systems.
