Copyright Law At Odds With 1st Amendment: Judge

Law360, New York (April 8, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has reversed course on an earlier decision and found that a section of the Copyright Act that restored U.S. copyrights to some foreign authors is in violation of the First Amendment, marking a big victory for a group of music conductors, sellers of classical music and film distributors who challenged the law.
