Transgender Rights Bill Squeaks Through NH House

Law360, New York (April 8, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The New Hampshire House of Representatives has passed a legislative amendment that would grant transgendered persons more rights under the state’s current anti-discrimination law.

The bill inched by Wednesday, making its way to the Senate by a narrow vote of 188-187.

The measure was shot down last month by a vote of 181-149, but Democrats rallied back in the effort to push through protections for transgendered individuals in the workplace.
