BG Paid Out $90M In Bribes To Kazakhs: Shareholder
Law360 (April 13, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A BG Group PLC shareholder has accused the British natural gas company of dishing out $90 million in illegal payments to Kazakh officials and selling its interest in Offshore Kazakhstan International Oil Co. for an "inadequately small" price of $1.8 billion.
Celeste C. Grynberg filed the suit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts on Wednesday, alleging that the company and its officers and directors breached their fiduciary duties to shareholders by participating in bribery schemes and neglecting to monitor overseas transactions.
