Tyson Fights Chair's Deposition In Poultry Waste Suit

Law360, New York (April 14, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In a case alleging Tyson Foods Inc. polluted Oklahoma waters with poultry waste, the company has moved for an order shielding its former CEO and current board chairman from a deposition set to take place on the last day of discovery.

Tyson Foods filed a motion Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma to protect John Tyson from an April 16 deposition.

The law doesn't require most senior executives to testify in depositions unless they have “special knowledge” about the issue...
