DOJ Seeks To Extend Antitrust Oversight Of Microsoft

Law360, New York (April 16, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Justice and a group of state attorneys general urged a federal judge Thursday to extend court oversight of portions of a historic antitrust judgment against Microsoft Corp. for another 18 months.

The extension, agreed to by Microsoft, was necessary to ensure the quality of technical documents the software giant provided to licensees under the landmark 2002 consent decree, which resolved allegations that the company was abusing its dominant position in the computer operating systems market, according to the DOJ.
