Artists Sue Anthropologie Over Floral Rug Design

Law360 (April 17, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Three artists have hit Anthropologie Inc. with a copyright infringement suit, claiming the retailer secretly photographed and copied one of their floral prints to use as a design for a rug that was eventually sold for $200 or more in stores.

Susan Happersett, Esther Smith and Dikko Faust, who do business together as Purgatory Pie Press, filed the lawsuit Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
