Drinker Biddle DQ'd In Pa. Pharma Partnership Fight

By Dan Packel (October 20, 2017, 2:20 PM EDT) -- A Pennsylvania state judge Thursday completely barred Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP from representing pharmaceutical consulting firm Excellis Health Solutions as well as a founder of the company in a shareholder dispute brought by a purported minority owner.

Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Judge Remy Djerassi said the state's Rules of Professional Conduct mandated that Drinker Biddle could represent neither Excellis nor majority owner Gregory Cathcart, noting a firm attorney was responsible for drafting the operating agreement that allegedly excluded plaintiff Roger Saumure.
