Trump Taps Acting Pentagon CIO For Top Tech Role At DHS

Law360, Nashville (October 26, 2017, 5:09 PM EDT) -- President Donald Trump has named the U.S. Department of Defense’s acting chief information officer who is a longtime senior defense information technology staffer to become the CIO at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the White House announced Thursday.

John Zangardi, whose nomination does not have to be approved by the Senate, had served as the DOD’s principal deputy CIO since October 2016, before being named acting CIO when Terry Halvorsen retired at the end of February.
