SiRF Seeks Sanctions For Broadcom In Patent Spat

Law360 (April 22, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- SiRF Technology Inc. has moved for sanctions against Broadcom Corp., claiming a McAndrews Held & Malloy Ltd. attorney representing the semiconductor manufacturer violated a protective order in a thorny patent infringement dispute over GPS technology.

SiRF asked a magistrate judge in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California on Tuesday to boot the attorney from the case after he signed a terminal disclaimer in one of Broadcom's patent applications.
