EU Urged Not To Extend Motor Insurance To Private Land

Law360, London (November 6, 2017, 3:52 PM GMT) -- U.K. insurers warned the European Union on Monday that extending the bloc’s third-party motor insurance rules to include liability for accidents on private property will encourage uninsured driving and lead to widespread fraud.

The International Underwriting Association, a U.K. insurance trade body, was commenting as the European Commission, the EU’s executive arm, considers whether to expand the Motor Insurance Directive.
