Liberty Must Cover Markets For Power Outages: Court

Law360, New York (April 23, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A New Jersey appeals court has ruled that Liberty Mutual Fire Insurance Co. must cover a group of supermarkets for losses sustained during a four-day power outage, even if the stores' policies only included coverage for physical damage.

The Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division, found Wednesday that the Superior Court of New Jersey, Law Division, had incorrectly granted summary judgment to Liberty, reversing and remanding the case.
