Verizon Sues Workers' Union For CBA Breaches

Law360 (April 23, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Verizon Communications Inc. subsidiary is suing a chapter of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers union for allegedly banning members from accepting management positions with the company, in violation of a collective bargaining agreement.

In an amended complaint filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island, Verizon New England Inc. claims the Local 2323 of the union has fined and sued members who take temporary management assignments as part of protests by the chapter against the company's decision in March...
