NYC Forces Ad Companies To Hire More Black Execs

Law360, New York (September 8, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A group of advertising industry heavyweights has given in to New York City officials who want to force the companies to increase the number of black executives they hire or face stiff consequences.

The agreement was reached after New York City’s Commission on Human Rights found that only 2% of the industry’s highest-paid decision-makers are black. According to the officials, the statistics have barely changed since a similar problem was unearthed 40 years ago.
