Law360, New York (November 16, 2017, 8:30 PM EST) -- The Federal Communications Commission took action to free up spectrum for 5G on Thursday, the same day the chair of a House Energy and Commerce subcommittee touted the benefits of the fifth-generation wireless broadband technology during a hearing on its development and potential challenges.
The FCC took steps to move forward on releasing spectrum above 24 gigahertz, saying the move will "help ensure American leadership in wireless broadband, which represents a critical component of economic growth, job creation, public safety and global competitiveness."
