Deals Rumor Mill: Qualcomm, Time, Barnes & Noble
By Benjamin Horney ( November 16, 2017, 4:40 PM EST) -- The European Commission could approve Qualcomm Inc.'s $38 billion buyout of NXP Semiconductors NV by the end of this year, according to a Thursday report from Bloomberg. The report said Qualcomm was able to successfully ease regulatory concerns by promising not to acquire standard essential system-level patents owned by NXP. The report comes mere days after European Commissioner for Competition Margrethe Vestager said a decision on the fate of the deal might not come until next year....
