Tyson Chair Spared Deposition In Poultry Waste Suit

Law360, New York (April 27, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Tyson Foods Inc. has prevailed in its bid to shield former CEO and current board chairman from questions by Oklahoma's law enforcers in a case accusing the poultry producer of polluting state waters.

Magistrate Judge Paul Cleary of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma on Friday granted the company's motion for a protective order, saying the state had provided insufficient evidence to support its sought-after deposition of chairman John H. Tyson.
