Pharmacists' Suit Over Morning-After Pill To Proceed

Law360, New York (September 11, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge in Illinois has declined to dismiss a lawsuit filed by pharmacists who were fired after refusing to dispense the "morning-after pill" on moral or religious grounds.

Judge Jeanne E. Scott wrote Wednesday that there was enough evidence to allow the case to proceed for now. The state has until the end of the month to respond to her ruling.
