DOJ Tells Justices Forced Statements Can Be Used Pretrial

Law360, New York (November 22, 2017, 5:49 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Justice recently urged the Supreme Court not to protect suspects from having their compelled statements used at pretrial hearings, saying applying the Fifth Amendment that early would bog down criminal proceedings.
