Colonial Pipeline Bled $340M From Fuel Cos., FERC Told

Law360, New York (November 27, 2017, 4:57 PM EST) -- Units of Chevron Corp. and Valero Corp. have urged the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to probe refined petroleum transportation rates charged by Colonial Pipeline Co., saying the pipeline operator overcharged shippers by nearly $340 million in 2016 through excessive and unreasonable rates.

Colonial owns and operates a 5,500-mile pipeline system between Houston and New Jersey that transports refined petroleum products including gasoline and jet fuel to destinations along the Gulf Coast and in the Southeast and Northeast.
